EUROPA OXALÁ is an exhibition about the young Europe that is happening now and that wants to be built as a place of an inclusive, diverse, democratic and free future. Children of European empires, the artists and intellectuals who make EUROPA OXALÁ bring to the cultural and artistic scene the colonial heritage that shapes them and that was the starting point for the research and production work that is now being exhibited. The exhibition is curated by António Pinto Ribeiro (curator and researcher), Katia Kameli (artist and curator) and Aimé Mpane (artist and curator). EUROPA OXALÁ is a co-production of the Center for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra through its ERC Memoirs project, the MUCEM (Marseille), the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (France and Lisbon delegation) and the Royal Museum of Central Africa-AfricaMuseum (Tervuren, Belgium). The exhibition of works of art and the cycle of debates will take place from 2021 to 2023, in three countries:
