Béatrice Dubell

Béatrice Dubell was born in France in 1957. Dubell, scriptwriter and documentary direector, is interested in the history that links France to Algeria. She investigates the close ties of Algerian immigration to France in her films De Pied Ferme (2013) and El Bi'r (2008). In 2014, Dubell directed Cette Guerre et Nous, which displayed the complexity, complementarities and contradictions of the memories of the Algerian war in French society today, based on the views of many of those involved. This film also addresses the transfer of the questioning of memory surrounding the conflict and the past to the following generations.
